"Two friends and I were looking for an inexpensive pension in Barcelos and decided to stay here. The room was small and basic but very clean and comfortable. The location was good--near the big Thursday market and just a couple of blocks to the old town. The best part though were the friendly and helpful staff. My friend had an early morning train to catch. The afternoon before, the staff telephoned the train station for information, practically walked my friend to the station, and made sure she had all of the information. The following morning, the friendly proprietor, was up waiting for her and had written out a train schedule with details of her transfer to the metro in Porto in order to catch her flight. They were incredibly friendly. I'd stay here again."
